Another transfer setback for Chelsea on deadline day
Premier League champions Chelsea can’t seem to get anything right in the transfer market of late.
After losing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool, the Blues have now reportedly lost Swansea striker Fernando Llorente to Tottenham.
Yesterday we reported that Blues manager Antonio Conte is keen to sign the former Juventus striker, but Spurs have gazumped their move on the deadline day. Spurs reportedly registered their interest in the player last-Wednesday and completed the signing by Thursday morning.
According to La Liga journalist Guillem Blagaue, Llorente has agreed on a £12m move to join the North London side. The 32-year-old has reportedly signed on a two-year deal with Spurs with the option on an additional year.
