Everton Push Ahead in FA Cup with 3-1 Victory over Oldham Athletic

Although it proved a testy affair at Goodison Park, Everton eventually overwhelmed a spirited Oldham Athletic 3-1 to book a meeting in the FA Cup quarterfinals with Wigan Athletic.
David Moyes’ side struggled at times to penetrate the League One strugglers, but a clinical finish from Belgian winger Kevin Mirallas set the tone in the 15th minute of the replay. Former Everton attacker Jose Baxter had an opportunity to equalize soon after. However, he was denied by the post, before Leighton Baines added a second goal for the hosts with a 34th minute penalty.
